Lansinoh® LatchAssist® Nipple Former gently draws out the nipple and shapes it correctly at the moment of latching. This allows for optimal milk flow.

Especially in the first few days after giving birth, many mothers experience a sudden, very strong swelling of the breasts as a result of the milk coming in. This temporary condition can make breastfeeding very difficult for a short time. In the acute phase, the skin can become so stretched that the nipple is almost flat.

It is very difficult for the baby to find a flat or inverted nipple. If not enough breast tissue is latched on, optimal milk flow cannot occur. Furthermore, the mother is at high risk of developing sore nipples.

Tips for using the LatchAssist® nipple former
At the moment of latching, you solve the problem by using the LatchAssist® Nipple Former to gently but clearly pull out the nipple so that your baby can more easily grasp the nipple and areola.

Squeeze the bulb of the nipple former and gently place the funnel over the nipple and areola, ensuring an airtight seal. Slowly release the pressure on the bulb to create a vacuum and gently draw the nipple out. Repeat this process with the nipple former until the nipple is prominent and large enough for your baby to latch on.
